Years ago i made this QueenAnne HiBoy out of Cherry from a Wood Magazine featured article, He insisted on a dark red color.
for my sons new house. The leg material was too short so I add onto them and put a groove in the legs,(Architectural feature) to hide the joint. Before I stained it the wood tone above and below the joint different showed grain shades.
This was my first try at the Queen Ann style legs. They took me about 4 hours a leg. A good spokeshave, some good rasps,block plane and plenty of sanding.
