Mark Martinez returns to share his expertise on hand-cut dovetails. Whether you’re new to dovetails or looking to refine your technique, come learn alongside fellow woodworkers and bring your questions.
I failed to make the computer work (sorry), but 11 people, including a first time guest, were there to admire @soltow99 's beautiful electric guitar and @mark76wa 's dovetail demo. Mark got cool secret—well, not secret anymore,—weapons he showcased for us. Thank you, Mark for the fun and informative presentation!
Hi there ! I believe I was the noted ‘first time guest’ or maybe there were more. Enjoyed the presentation and the people present. This was my first time in any type of woodworking gatherings and I became a member a week or so ago, after seeing the event posting and wanting to start actively participating.
Since I was called out, I thought I would introduce myself.
My name is Doug Nelson, I am 55 and have decided recently to start exploring woodcraft. The initial reason is due to a recent inheritance of a large collection of vintage wood working tools and a desire to understand the range and uses and possibly use some in my wood working endeavors.
Right now I am learning the terminologies, my workshop needs and general tool usages. Initial interests are basic, boxes, plant stands, a side table, a picture frame. However, I do want to play in all the fun joinery when creating these, so I have a ton to learn.
I look forward to attending other events and such and contributing as I can while learning from y’all.
Welcome to the club, Doug! Thank you for posting.
Many people here are knowledgeable, and I’m sure you’ll have a nice time talking about woodworking!
