Box Dovetailed All Sides and Ends

Ever try to dovetail a box together all six sides? The trick is to cut so the ends of all the sides have pins. this allows the end panels to be slide straight on the box.

This is a crazy idea. I love it. I guess the box is just a pedestal, and it doesn’t actually open?

It can be run through the table saw and hinged for a box, or used as a book end, or as you said a pedestal.
That is how I make most of my boxes ,cut the top off last. I score them nearly all the way through with the TS and then finish them with a utility knife. That way I don’t get the pesky over cut at the end of the last pass.
