Here is a roll-around cabinet I made for the Big TV,All those periphery boxes that goes with it.
Rockler had a sale on really nice cherry 1X6 planed 2s lumber at the time so I bought a bunch. I love to work with cherry, it machines so nicely.
The shelves are adjustable on pins for books . There is a hole in the upper back for all the cords and cables
The finish is General stain, Wheat color and shellac over stain, Then a coat of Waterbase satin Urethane.

It has darkened up a lot since then. That is characteristic of cherry.
