I got this planer used several years ago. I’m sure it’s ancient but it’s worked pretty well. A few days ago it stopped working. Now when I turn it on I get a high-pitched squeal. Based on some Googling I suspect there are plastic sprockets in there that may have stripped. Fixing old tools is not my hobby, but it might be yours. If so, you’re welcome to the planer and do whatever you want with it. I’m replacing it with a new one.
I have something bigger already, but could 3d print a replacement gear for someone if there is enough left to get gear specs off of. If you haven’t heard from anyone after a while I’ll take it to add to my pile of projects and pass it on to a neighbor or the buy nothing group once repaired. I have enough projects stacked up at the moment, so I’ll let others have first go, but if someone needs parts printed or its going to get pitched in the trash I can help.
