Promise I’m not here just to sell our hardwood remnants, but I am trying to find a clever way to get our excess in to the hands of those that could use it. I sent the below email to a few businesses, but haven’t had much luck. You guys have any ideas on what to do with this material? Thanks for any responses. Cheers
Hello and good afternoon, my name is Joe Munro with Simpson Door in McCleary, WA (south and west of Olympia) where we have manufactured stile and rail wood doors since 1912.
I am reaching out as we have an excess of soft and hard wood remnants, typically 25” to 18” in length among common thicknesses of 4/4, 6/4, and 8/4 over an extensive variety of species. We process as much of this as we can internally for our own product and other smaller components, but we are coming up on an excess of this material. I am reaching out in hopes of finding a creative way to offer it to other businesses at a discount or donation to non-profits, rather than continuing to sit on it or turning it in to hog fuel. I am attaching a photo of the end cuts I am referring to as an example.
Just wondering if there are companies or organizations you can recommend in WA, OR, ID, and even beyond. Appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks for reading this, and feel free to reach out.
