I’ve been looking for a lumber supplier that didn’t require driving from the eastside over to Crosscut or down to G&H. Turns out that, maybe a year ago, Hardwood Industries in Woodinville opened a showroom to the public (they used to be wholesale only). I went by a few days ago and talked with the account manager who handles the showroom. They don’t have prices posted because they fluctuate so much based on their suppliers. A few days ago, at least, their S2S1E, at 4/4 nominal thickness, was running $5.99/bf for hard maple and $4.99/bf for cherry. 3/4 import baltic birch plywood was $47.36 per 4x8 sheet (they anticipating that going up a fair bit the next time they bring in a new shipment, due to tariffs).
They seem pretty knowledgeable and helpful. The one downside is that their showroom, along with their warehouse, are at the back of a gated industrial park and is only open Monday-Thursday (7:30am to 5pm) and Friday (7:30am to 4:30pm).
