Floor Space Saving Consolidation Ideas

Floor space. a valuable commodity in the small shop… any shop for that matter…
On large lengthy projects (2 years for this one) I usually build an on site satellite shop… I had 14x16’ floor w/ 3 inconveniently placed doors…
often these shops are left behind after the job is completed, all or in part…
Here’s some of the things I do to consolidate…

Contents…
Assembly table
TS
Lathe
DP
RT
DC
Compressor…
Welding
Grinder
Wet saw
Tool rack
Hardware rack
Planer
Lumber rack
Motorcycle

there are no conventional cabinets…
almost zero horizontal surfaces…
multi-function just about everything…

Tool rack

The router table…
the top is designed to RT even long items (not seen is the flip wing), it also multi-tasks as a station for the miter knife, the Mortising Machine, the Leigh D4 and Leigh FMT… everything is set to be on the same horizontal plane.

the grinding station…

Welding…

Shelving… 12" deep…

No loss of wall space…

Cut table…

Lumber rack

Work station… (assembly station)
the milk crate is my seat and step stool…

T1

there are NO vertical surfaces that were not pressed into service…
if there is/was a machine I could do w/o and sub an easier to use less wasteful tool or method… it was done…
