Similar to the one I had, only difference was the “step” was a tool tote and the door slot was a “V” shape to fit different thickness doors. The top had a slot to carry it around. It also served as a seat to eat lunch and have a coffee break.
Later on I put a small Vee block on top to hold small pieces to hand plane them.

Seems like every project I have to build a jig for it, sometimes a one time jig, others I can use over again. The problem I have is strorage of jigs and remembering what I made it for a year later…

I like everything but the MDF, I would use MDO instead.

no bench vise???
this may be what you could use…
instead of bolting it down, use dog holes…
consider using quick clamps or turning the clamps around end for end…
